Academics

The CORE Program

The Core Program includes a full range of programs (both academic and recreational) for boarding and day students who are deaf or hard of hearing, including students with additional disabilities. Our Core program serves pre-school, elementary, middle and high school students (ages 3-22), while integrating all academic content areas with individualized instruction to create a customized learning environment aligned with Common Core standards. Teachers work alongside professional staff with training in school counseling, social work, school psychology, learning disabilities, speech and language, audiology, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. Over 90% of the ASD faculty and staff have earned master’s degrees or above, and 100% of faculty are Connecticut certified teachers.
